Providing the contractor with Program Management services, including master programming and planning, controlling & reporting, including detailed contract documentation planning and the ongoing monitoring & evaluating of progress. Working closely with State Government (MPV) to provide monthly progress reports to an agreed format. MCG Northern Stand Redevelopment, Melbourne Cricket Club
The MCG Northern Stand was redeveloped offering world class sports view facilities to match the Great Southern Stand (which PSA Project also offered project management services). The redevelopment meant approximately 60% of the ground's seating were state of the art, including provision of a new members stand and additional top quality public areas. This increased total seating capacity to nearing 100,000. The arena surface was also reconstructed in preparation for the Commonwealth Games opening and closing ceremonies. Top
Crown Casino, Grocon
Working with the contractor Grocon, master programming was undertaken on one of Melbourne’s most recognisable buildings on the south bank of the Yarra River. The project was challenged with master planning consideration of the King St Bridge Wall and structure over the critical city thoroughfare road cutting through the site. Feasibility testing and analysis was required along with staging of construction sequencing, critical access paths, cranage, laydown space and general site logistics. Working with the DV led Project Working Group, PSA were engaged to develop the Master Plan to set the direction over the next 10+ years of development for the Arts Precinct. Broadmeadows Town Hall Redevelopment, Hume City Council
This challenging project saw the original Broadmeadows Town Hall transformed into a multipurpose community facility that will continue to serve the population with its performance area, as well as a new co-habited office environment. In their role as Superintendent rep, Hume Council engaged PSA part way through the construction, as latent conditions became apparent, requiring an independent assessment of claims for time. Top
Malmsbury and Parkville Youth Justice Centre, Department of Justice
This demanding program saw the introduction of 68 beds to the Youth Justice system across 2 sites and delivered by 2 contractors. The 2 locations, Parkville and Malmsbury, each had a unique set of site constraints and limitations requiring different approaches to the delivery of the new facilities. The regional, Malmsbury site was a larger component and demanded extensive resources to be applied across a new carpark and extension to the entry building, new external, perimeter fencing, 32 bedrooms and associated program buildings. PSA Project was engaged by Darebin Council as Project Managers to support the delivery of the 2018 Capital Works Program. Flinders Street Station, Development Victoria
The Flinders Street Station dome and heritage listed façade is being restored and repaired in one of its biggest upgrades completed since it was built. With one of the highest volumes of pedestrian traffic passing under/ through the works, it was important detailed planning was undertaken with the key stakeholders before going to market for builders. PSA modelled and tested the different delivery methods for planned footpath closures/ impacts on pedestrian flow/ scaffold installation. The agreed plan was used as a baseline delivery method going to market and enabled the tenderers to be greatly informed of the accepted methods. Top

A challenging and complicated refurbishment required detailed planning during the design phase to establish a workable construction methodology that would enable critical services to continue to be provided during the construction phase. Engaged during the feasibility stage of this project, PSA worked closely with the operations team to establish a workable staged construction sequence and overall timeframe. PSA were engaged during the early design stages to assess the feasibility and model different options to recommend the best fit for the key stakeholder groups. Loddon Prison Medical Unit, Department of Justice
PSA were engaged by the State to solve the challenge of undertaking a complete re-build of the medical facility within the operating prison facility, without disrupting their critical services. During the initial stages of design, PSA worked closely with the design team, and key stakeholders to plan for a staged construction sequence. PSA were able to test the different methods of delivery before resolving what would provide the state with least delivery risk and work best for this environment. PSA have been working closely with the Major Projects Team and the contractor onsite in providing independent monitoring and evaluation of the construction progress. Regular assessments were undertaken against an agreed baseline programme using PSA’s proven traffic light reporting of critical path items. This enabled the contractor to focus on the important items ahead of time before they affected the Councils agreed outcomes, resulting in less risk and improvements in the contractors timely performance. Working with the Casey Council to deliver the 2 state of the art swimming and leisure centres (ARC & RACE), incorporating Olympic standard main pool, program pool, sauna, spa as well as specialty leisure & aquatic play, together with child minding facilities, gymnasium/fitness centre and associated support areas. This time critical project required PSA project to work closely with the Superintendent, Contractor and University to ensure works were completed for classes semester 2, 2019. A staged delivery enabled a focused effort by all resources, ultimately resulting in completing the critical works on time. Melbourne University School of Engineering 2025 Strategy, University of Melbourne
PSA supported the School of Engineering with the development of their 5 year program of capital works incorporating a series of relocations to enable the expansion of the Carlton precinct. The Emerald Apartments consisted of 3 basements, 3 levels of car parking from ground level and apartments from L3 to L18 with a roof top garden. PSA provided Equiset with practical strategic and detailed design and construction planning advice supported by their proved monitoring & evaluation methodology to enable the successful delivery on time within a very aggressive programme. Phoenix Apartments - 82 Flinders St, Equiset
PSA Project worked closely with the contractor Equiset on this unique 29 storey development, the first high rise of its kind in Melbourne measuring 24.3m x 6.7m wide, making it one of the skinniest buildings on Melbourne's skyline. PSA provided expert project feasibility and program management services and proposed construction methods during the planning phase through master planning. Shell Mainframe Computer Relocation, Shell Corporation

PSA’s Founder, Dr Paul Steinfort, has been delivering post-disaster project manangement and community workshops to disaster affected countries such as Australia (1977), Banda Aceh (2004), Japan (2010), New Zealand (2010), Pakistan (2011), the Philippines (2014). The course tried to respond to the affected communities need to be better prepared to effectively deliver the required aid-relief and rebuilding projects in post-disaster situations. The course covered all of the essential elements of community and post-disaster program management: rapid assessment, effective stakeholder engagement, project planning and preparing for project transition.Top
Local Community Workshops
PSA has worked closely with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Brotherhood of St. Laurence and Spectrum Migrant Services to conduct two Community Program Management workshops for community and non-profit organisations in Melbourne, including over 50 community leaders. The Project Management training to migrant community leaders was part of the Victorian State Government Initiative, Refugee Action Program (RAP). The training provided participants with the opportunity to receive new skills that are effective, proven and easily applied into their communities for all types of projects.Top
MS Project Training
PSA Project have provided training in Microsoft Project bringing practical day to day process, knowledge and experience. Training has included lecturing at RMIT in the Masters of Project Management on the techniques of using Microsoft Project practically including programming logic, critical path and resourcing. Training has also been completed to many organisations including Shell, Oz minerals, Comalco, Mobil Oil, Krupp Engineering, Royal Australian Air Force, SEC - Loy Yang, Glaxo, Powercor and Permasteel ISA to name a few.
